Thanks for writing this, it clarifies a lot about navigating the constant new waves of AI innovations. I'm curious what you see as the biggest challenge to building a durable 'core' online when so much encourages short-term attention, you have a realy sharp way of breaking this down.

The biggest challenge is not forgetting that you’re playing the platform’s attention game.

Let's take Substack as an example. You’ll still use the tools, like Notes on Substack, to earn distribution. Likes can help with reach. Just don’t treat them as truth.

Measure quality by your real goal, not by likes.

If you want to be funny, write good jokes, measure quality by laughs, and optimize for that.

If you want to help people make smarter finance decisions, measure quality by the impact, like better choices over time.

And to know if you’re actually hitting that goal, you have to talk to people. A few DMs, replies, short conversations. That feedback loop is the durable core.
